Here is a practical example:
MDR stopped working. It is not able to receive emails anymore (at least
not via POP3) so I started investigating the causes. For this I reverted
the entire add-ons/mail_daemon hierarchy to a revision before that last
revision that changes those files. I can tyoe jam -q inside this same
directory and all add-ons in sub-directories will be compiled. But I
wanted to also automatically install them to
/boot/beos/system/add-ons/mail_daemon.
I guess I can hack it around in a way similar to what you did but it
would still be cool to have an option to do what I describe.
