As for #2 (tiled windows going out of bounds), what do you guys reckon is the most desirable solution to that scenario? So again, given the scenario where you move window X so that window Y, which is tiled to X, goes completely off screen, then detach X from Y... one solution would be to automatically "recover" Y by placing it somewhere sensible near the edge of the screen to which Y formerly disappeared.
Thanks for looking into fixing these issues, Hong.Others may feel differently about that, but IMO this is one of the few occasions, where an animation is warranted. Once the tile-mode is broken by detaching a window, the remaining window should quickly (max. 0.5s) slide into the desktop until it's completely visible. It should sort itself below the detached window (that is probably still in drag-mode by the user) and of course doesn't steal the focus.
Don't forget to test with more than two windows. Regards, Humdinger -- --=-=--=-=--=-=--=-=--=-=--=-=--=-=--=-=--=-=--=- Deutsche Haiku News @ http://www.haiku-gazette.de
