I just realized that you probably don't have commit access and thus
can't work directly in HEAD even if you wanted to, yet, my opinion is
unaltered. However, it means you'll need to work closely with somebody
who has DOES have commit access so that your patches can be cleaned up
and committed without too much delay.

Like I said, this only applies if you've got open ended changes in
mind, if you've got a limited scope in mind for your changes that is
doable in a reasonably short time frame then a Github branch is great.
