Yes. Investing in even faster processors for compiling software is wasted money. Investing in a fast storage solution would be much smarter.

Undoubtly. I was going to sell my Seagate Cheetah 15k rpm because it was getting small, but when I tried the same OS on a standard 7200 rpm disk, I put the baby back in its place and now I'm going to buy a second one :-)

Only problem is, Haiku does not have any SCSI adapter driver, and the fastest SATA disk is the WD Raptor at 10k rpm.
The other option is a solid state disk, but they're too much expensive.
