i would say that this issue should almost be raised to an r1alpha4
blocker.  Whilst trying to rebuild the OptionalPackages in a VM I am
watching the 8GB images I am using quickly fill up.  Then I do a disk
usage scan and find /boot/common/var is using 6GB of it!  This is
really annoying.
