The python port is held up by some of the failing regression tests,
I've posted a wiki page on HaikuPorts to try and capture why each is
failing and have identified where I could if it's related to an open
Haiku trac issue:
http://ports.haiku-files.org/wiki/PythonRegressionTests
Python seems to be stable enough at this point for use with Mercurial
and some other programs as well. I'm not sure if any of those failing
tests are really showstoppers at this point. Many of those tests I
think will clear up if/when ticket #3308 is fixed.

Has prop #6 been addressed yet? Seems like it'd be an easy one to
close out. Any progress on Subversion? Perhaps we mark it done for
alpha and move it to a beta requirement to have it be Haiku native?
It seems to be fairly reliable for now. How about sliding prop #12
out as well? I think it might be time to add a new milestone for
alpha2/beta1 whatever you want to call it, and start picking items
that should be done by then as well.

Looks like we're nearly there. Perhaps a discussion amongst the devs
related to the remaining issues at the upcoming BeGeistert can lead to
a date for picking a date for a freeze?
