Is > there a better way? > This is precisely what the -p parameter of patch does. the number following the p indicates how many levels of the filename paths to remove before trying to apply the patch. I.e. -p0 removes the component preceding the first /, -p1 removes a/b, etc. No need to hand edit the diffs in Pe. Regards, Rene
