I just wanted to ask if anyone would be against adding my OpenTargetFolder tracker add-on. It only shows when you right click on symlinks and opens the parent of the target of the link. It's a shorthand to "Get Info" and click on the "Link To" field.
I wonder what will be the use case for that add-on. Maybe i miss the obvious, but why would you open a symlink target with an add-on instead of double clicking the symlink? At least that's what would happen if you do 'Get Info' and use the 'Link To' thing on the symlink, right?

Nope, it opens the folder where the link is in. And this can be quite handy.

Ohhhh, now i got it. It makes more sense if it points to a file not a dir. I'm looking for the name you will come up for this... ( OpenTargetParentFolder ) :)

But I'm pretty sure such add-on's are a good sign that multiple window browsing is not that well behaving for certain cases.

Can't follow you there, though :-)

Now that i got the purpose of the add-on, just a short explanation. I thought first of you put a symlink to a directory e.g on the Desktop and then trying to open it's parent folder. Which would be easily solvable if we finally would enable the navigation bar in Tracker! Single or multiple window browsing out of question here.

Best regards,
Karsten
