Using Objective-C in Haiku is an interesting option. Of course, since Haiku APIs are in C++, we need Objective-C++ to call C++ classes from Objective-C ones, and viceversa. One of the greatest benefits of Objective-C is of course its libraries, and the only open source implementation of them is GNUStep. I looked at its code and I believe the non-GUI parts are fairly trivial to port to Haiku.
