Hey guys...
I had a computer running Haiku on bare metal perfectly, sent it to a
customer, and when it arrived, he reported that when he tries to boot it, he
gets a “no sys loader” error. When I Googled that error in quotes, all the
top results have to do with Haiku, so I’m assuming this is a Haiku error.
What do you think it indicates in this case, and what should I do?
Hi,
This error comes from the default master boot record (which
unfortunately needs to be very small and has no space for better error
messages). Possible problems are:
- The partition table was corrupted
- The Haiku partition was not marked active
Possible solutions:
- Fix the partition table
- Mark the partition as active
- Use EFI booting instead
