As others have stated already, I also like the current behaviour, though
I'm not that much of a shell guy...
How about convenience shortcuts ALT+H and ALT+D to change to Home and
the Desktop? As in Tracker where I use those all the time in file
dialogs. As in those dialogs, I don't think we'd need menu items for
that. So, no bloating worries there.
