[haiku-development] Re: Name the package manager "Software Valet"

Raises an interesting debate about what Haiku is meant to be.


​If it's a homage to BeOS, just as AmigaOS 4 is to AmigaOS 3, then you should 
stick with Software Valet as the name.



​If you're intending to sell out and try to be mass market (a pretty tall order 
considering the number of failed and competing Linux distros out there), then 
you should probably stick with something mainstream and boring such as Package 
Manager.


​Personally, the former gets my vote.  I miss R3 and R4 terribly and would love 
for Haiku simply to be a modernised* version of R5, rather than something 
entirely different.

*that is, able to run correctly under VMware (all editions) and to have a 
really good web browser.
