Like Ithamar mentioned, in addition to checking for ACPI/APM, it could check if
the interface includes battery information:
No battery information available -> no power status in the Deskbar.
This would be similar to what Pieter proposed for sound:
No detected output channels -> no sound volume in the Deskbar.
