As Ingo put it, I don't think the kernel add-ons are that problematic.
But I am also unsure about the media add-ons, and I think we should try
to get legal advise before putting them on the image.
I've contacted FSF Europe, and asked for a clarification of the GPL
paragraph (in v2):

        "These requirements apply to the modified work as a whole.  If
identifiable sections of that work are not derived from the Program,
and can be reasonably considered independent and separate works in
themselves, then this License, and its terms, do not apply to those
sections when you distribute them as separate works."

I think this paragraph can be read in our favour, it's just the
question if it's really meant to be this way, too :-)
