So, what is this RemoteDisk facility and how do I use it? :)
Can this be used to access a remote haiku.image?

Maybe works with...
http://dev.haiku-os.org/browser/haiku/trunk/src/add-ons/kernel/drivers/disk/virtual/remote_disk/RemoteDisk.cpp

Hadn't spotted that yet, but looks like a client-side kernel driver. I was more hoping for a way to host such an image on Unices for access by Haiku.

Inspired by your suggestion, I found src/tools/remote_disk_server. You can run it as:

jam -q run ':remote_disk_server' haiku.image

But although it displays four "HELLO request" lines, it finds no volume. There appear to be some host incompatibilities - looking into it.
