Just missed one advantage of B: storing positions, and sizes would be more annoying with A.
That's already visible in Tracker: if you change the font size, all of your precious window positions, and sizes are then wrong. That's annoying, and will need fixes.

For the icons in Tracker, however, the same issue already happens when you set a different icon size, so this code should already handle this case, but doesn't currently.
