Centralization: we'd have all our repositories in one place.

I don't mean to be dull, but where is the benefit in centralization? I see a few minus points:
 * Work to move the repos
 * More maintainance
 * More strain on the infrastructure

Are there benefits to centralization that outweight these?

If memory serves, we had some very specific reasons to host the Haiku code ourselves. I don't remember the details, but I don't think these reasons apply to haiku-depot-web or HaikuPorts.

Also, are there any specific problems with the status quo?

Also, from
what I can tell, Google seems to be phasing out Google Code -- downloads
are already disabled.

That would really surprise me. Wouldn't there have been a notification by now?
