Hi,

I just happened to find the following slides of this year´s FOSDEM:

https://fosdem.org/2016/schedule/event/could_haiku_become_bsd/attachments/slides/1152/export/events/attachments/could_haiku_become_bsd/slides/1152/FR_FOSDEM2016_CouldHaikuBecomeBSD.pdf

I came up with a similar idea on this list a while back. In the
meantime, I started to write some NetBSD code to model an IPC
imlpementation close to BeOS ports, of which a potential port of libbe
could take advantage. You can find the code here.

https://github.com/stephanwib/NetBSD/blob/trunk/sys/kern/uipc_port.c

Please note, however, that it´s at most comile-tested, might contain
horrible bugs and lags all kind of performance optimizations.
