The idea was > refreshing it a tad. Grub generally relies on being able to load additional program binaries off a partition format it can understand (hence the presence of the /boot/grub subdir). It cannot fit into a 512 byte boot sector and work off just that. That will hold true for pretty much any boot loader that wants to be "fancy". Regards, Rene
