Hi,
I am siddhant gupta from india, I am currently pursuing masters in ICT in
DAIICT, gandhinagar. I was interested in participating in GSoC and work
with haiku as the project called "improving the btrfs filesystem" under the
category 'kernel' suits my interest. Can anyone guide me with the workflow
and what is expected from a student as an outcome of this project. I have
gone through the brief description of the project and found that i could
contribute to this with best of my knowledge in concepts in operating
systems and development in C/C++ language. And also with my experience in
sending patches, code cleansing and debugging , I feel enough capable to
get into this project.
About me:
I have been working on various services and platform on Linux as I got
trained to use them during my course of study for system administration. I
am a certified to RHCSA and trained in several technologies like Security
(IPtables, Krb5, Server Hardening, Firewall), Storage handling(Gluster,
Ceph), Virtualisation(KVM, VMware), Cloud platform (Openstack, AWS),
Networking (Routing and switching), scripting (Shell, Perl)
I have been a Teaching Assistant at My college for the subjects "Computer
Networks" and "Operating Systems" where I have mentored several concepts
including a session on Process scheduling and concurrency, Creating a *File
System* (over C language), Creating a *mini shell* with functionalities
like IO redirection, and many more.
My Opensource Contribution: lately I've Learnt how to work with Linux
kernel, where I have learnt how to send patches, I made some code cleansing
on the driver code of MediaTek (mt7621-dma) in the staging tree, and worked
on documentation part as well as tried my hands on bug-fixing.
