Hi,
The ideas list is slowly filling up. The application to GSoC is completed.
Now we need to assign possible mentors to the various ideas. Note that not
all ideas involve writing code directly for Haiku, so even if you don't have
commit access there, you can help with mentoring some of the projects.
In particular, I think we could consider a GSoC project about porting large
applications such as LibreOffice or OnlyOffice.
Scott has asked me around two weeks ago if I would like to mentor this
project, and I told him I would be available to mentor LibreOffice
port if no one steps up.
I did some work on this already [1] but I am not sure if I have enough
knowledge about both Haiku and LibreOffice to be able to provide
valuable feedback as a mentor.
On one hand I have made Scintilla port usable and have written simple
apps, and on the other it's enormous project that could require more
in-depth knowledge about the OS.
