Question, If there is a GSOC task for improving media player, would it not make sense to make media player the equivalent of the media player that is available on competing platforms. The idea would be to add the missing functionality that would remove the need for external software like VLC, thus making native software more capable and reducing the need for external ports.Also this harks back to the more "media os" nature of the "beos" even if it may have been marketing hyperbole to some degree.
