GGC 2 compatibility is only done to support old closed source BeOS apps.
What you say only matters if there are closed source GCC 4 applications
for Haiku that are by that time no longer in active development and are
considered vital for Haiku. Open source apps and closed source apps in
active development can just be recompiled and it's done.
