Well, I already used all my arguments on this subject (and also heard yours). I still believe that going with GCC 4 would be better and would easy things up in the future (there are bugs, yes, but there are also bugs in the GCC 2 version. Even if it takes a bit more time now, it is just time we will be saving in the future) but I am fine with whatever else is decided.
OTOH, trying to break the API *AND* change compilers at any point in time at the same time is a *REALLY* bad idea. The 2 are major changes and should not be done together.
Anyway, I rest my case. -Bruno
