What should we do?
- Add a test to WebKit so it exits cleanly when this happen, rather than
crashing?
- Stop supporting non-SSE2 systems altogether? (this is everything up to Penium
III and Athlon XP included)
If there are other technical reasons, I wouldn't mind that much, but as
long as it's only Web+, I would continue to support those platforms, and
just add a test to Web+ to exit cleanly in this case.
- Keep using older versions of WebKit? (we are currently about 6 months behind
anyways)
- Ship an alternate browser for non-SSE2 machines? Which one then? Qupzilla?
Otter? NetSurf?
I'm not sure otters would be of much help here, but I would just
document the fact, and let users of those systems decide for themselves.
Qupzilla will have the same problem, anyway, over time.
Bye,
Axel.
