There's a problem here, not that I don't agree in general with that, but
the thing is heavily related to regressions. There's no code without bugs.
If we merge a patch, someone should manage the eventual issues.

If I'm going to merge a big branch, I expect the submitter (and in this
case looncraz) to be around for a few weeks to face out eventual
regressions.

In this sense, the testing cycle I've been proposing would be exactly a
countermeasure for that.


You can take the responsability of reviewing and merging, then?

Well, I would take this responsibility then, but it's not clear whether the
implementation is acceptable.
