Thanks for working on it!
Since there is already a ticket, the most useful way is to use the ticket
comments in Trac. It keeps all things in one place and it makes it easy to
refer to them in the future (everything can easily be located using just the
ticket number).
The mailing list is useful in case you need to reach all developers (because
not everyone is watching the comments on all tickets).
The forum is usually not used for development discussions but could serve a
similar role as the mailing list.
