If so, I also wonder if we should skip the next GCI and GSoC. I does
bind a lot of developer time, esp. of the relatively few that are
otherwise more active in Haiku work. I have to admit, the results of
the past GSoC left me a bit unimpressed and our devs' time might be
better spend on getting a release out for now.
We'll see, the main point of GSoC is not the work accomplished during the
it's wether the student stay around after that. It's a bit early to know yet if
this will happen.
We can't reasonably complain that we have not enough contributors, but then skip
GSoC which is our main way to get new people to join. GCI is similar, but with a
longer term focus. I think at this point GCI is largely self-feeded in our case,
with a lot of the mentoring work done by former students and other people who
not part of the core Haiku team. Maybe we should push further in that direction?
