That's the alternative. Opening a new channel for that event may be 
prudent, or the noise from the usual 100+ people in #haiku may be 
distracting.

I see how that's effective for your low-level work, but I'd say for 
userland stuff nothing beats coding directly in Haiku.

Not really. Everyone would need to set up some github thingy and post 
links etc. around. Sharing in BeShare is much simpler.

While a vector icon would be nice, it isn't a show stopper. BeShare 
works on Haiku, that's what counts. And it has been updated 03/23/2012.

Just like we don't need to provide an IRC server, we don't need our own 
Muscle server to use a service. beshare.TyComSystems.com has been there 
for a long time and even if it should close one day, finding a 
replacement should be quite easy.
I see the issue in your third point, but that wouldn't be an issue for 
using BeShare for Bug Fix Weekends.

Anyway, the use of BeShare was just an idea. Further discussion on 
BeShare should be taken to the general Haiku mailing list to keep down 
the noise on this list.
