[haiku-development] BTextView::StyleBuffer

Hi there,
I am a bit stupified about what the concept of the BTextView::StyleBuffer
class. Obviously, it manages the different styles that are in use by the
corresponding BTextView. But what is the exact purpose of fNullStyle?
I can see that it is being synced to the "real" style-buffer under some
conditions, but I fail to extract the concept behind it.
Can anyone shed some light on this, please?
