Good afternoon!
We have been announcing a migration to Gerrit for quite some time. I
feel like we have reached critical-mass on pulling the trigger.
For those with commit access, not much is going to change.
* You have to have an account on review.haiku-os.org linked to your
Github account.
* You have to provide your public key to Gerrit on
review.haiku-os.org.
* You have to have your account added to the "Contributors" group.
With those three conditions met, you will have access to pull and commit
to <user>@git.haiku-os.org/haiku and <user>@git.haiku-os.org/buildtools
as before.
No change in git remotes needed (unless your github username differs
from your current one)
We should be also able to accept patches much easier via the "git
review" feature at review.haiku-os.org, however lets focus on keeping
the current users working for now :-)
Impacted:
cgit.haiku-os.org
git.haiku-os.org
review.haiku-os.org
I plan on flipping on the new system at 6:00pm CDT tonight. That's in
roughly 3 hours.
The current git.haiku-os.org services will be made unavailable while the
DNS replicates, and the new server will be placed at git.haiku-os.org.
I would recommend not pushing commits between 6:00pm CDT and 7:00pm CDT
until we have time to test and confirm functionality.
I'll keep this email chain updated with the current state of things.
Thanks!
