[haiku-development] Adding more META:attributes

Hi everyone.

I recently added more extra attributes to the PDF MIME type, because
BePDF writes those attributes. [1]
(BTW, it doesn't yet work as expected: No "PDF document" appears in
Tracker's "Attributes" menu for folders containing pdf documents, like
it does e.g. for bookmarks or people files [mind bug/ workaround
#10071]. Does anyone know what I'm missing?).

I was wondering it wouldn't make sense to rename some those extra
attributes, that are useful to other file types besides PDFs. Besides
DVJU file we one day may have an ODT, DOC, etc. viewer. This would
mean that different file types could share an attribute column in
Tracker windows and would come up when querying for the same indexed
attribute.

These are the current PDF extra attributes:

"attr:name" = "PDF:subject",
"attr:name" = "PDF:title",
"attr:name" = "PDF:creator",
"attr:name" = "PDF:author",
"attr:name" = "PDF:keywords",
"attr:name" = "PDF:producer",
"attr:name" = "PDF:created",
"attr:name" = "PDF:modified",
"attr:name" = "PDF:pages",
"attr:name" = "PDF:version",
"attr:name" = "PDF:linearized"

There's already "META:keyw" and "META:title" from the Bookmark file
type, so we can re-use those.
I propose to create "META:author" and "META:pages". I don't think the
other attributes have too much overlap with other (document) file
types or are so informative that people would like to see them in
Tracker windows.

Opinions?

Regards,
Humdinger

Did you know:
If half the Haiku supporters at http://www.goodsearch.com
made 10 searches a day, we could have a fulltime developer.
