Ah, I missed that one.
I guess it's good to know it's not exclusively limited to Axel's eeePC :)
I suppose we won't know how many other machines are affected until we
change the default at least, but with two known-issue machine there is
already something to work with (assuming, as Axel pointed out, there
is someone to work on it).
I still personally think switching the default option to ATA will
yield better results for alpha, even if a few people need to switch it
back temporarily for compatibility reasons.
