A while back, I went on to the IRC channel because I was interested in adding Haiku as an officially supported platform for one of my companies products. The product, which allows you to create an application in C/C++ and run it on any of the supported platforms, did not seem to be received very well. As I understand it, this is because of the fat that the GUI interface is being kept generic, only the features that exist on all of the supported platforms, or can easily be emulated, are being implemented. What I am looking for, is a polling of sorts, of would the Haiku community be interested in having an application, such as this one, having Haiku as an officially supported platform. This is just an initial query, as the core of the application is still in active development, and won't be ready for public beta for about another six to eight months. And the Haiku Platform Interface Layer (PLI) wouldn't even start development till late next month, at the earliest. If having something like this, that would allow you to distribute your application in a binary form, on multiple operating systems and hardware platforms would be of interest, please respond, either off-list, or on. As well, if you think the idea of this being used on Haiku is the most daft thing you have ever heard of, reply as well. We don't have any Haiku developers yet, so we need to know if this it wanted. Thank you, and I look forward to your responses.
