Hi Stephan;
Yes, as you have guessed, it is a bit more complex on the HDS side with
a few rules around choosing which user ratings to utilize in the
average. See the documentation [1] (which I'm hoping to get into a more
digestable format sometime!) section 4. Would it be possible to use
those ones derived from HDS? If that were the case then there would be
no chance of a discrepancy.

Stephan; are you independently calculating those user-ratings
desktop-side as well?
yes. This was present way before there was HDS and I planned to
synchronize this, but have not gotten around to it. I do read the HDS
average rating and display it in the list, but as soon as a user clicks
a package and I download the actual ratings for it, HaikuDepot
calculates its own average rating. I don't know how you do it, but I
just sum them up and divide by their number. Maybe you do something more
elaborate and also factor in for which version a rating had been given
and so weight more recent ratings higher.
