Unfortunately Haiku doesn't even have a particularly good source of randomness, unless virtualized with virtio support.
BTW, I really don't understand why there has to be some short limit to the password length. Since only a hash is stored anyway, what speaks against some more relaxed limit (e.g. 128 chars)?
