When we use embedded views, having a separate server would have the extra 
benefit that the Deskbar wouldn't crash in case the unarchived BView crashes. 
Other than that, the notification icon should only be visible as long as there 
are any notifications in the first place, right?
And besides that, you need to put the replicant functionality somewhere 
anywhere :-)

Another example for a permanent note would be temporarily gained permissions 
that you could dismiss using the notification as well.
