> Sound like a good idea, but it makes for a bigger menu. I was talking of the "Open With" window, not the contextual menu. For Open With contextual menu, when several versions of the same App signature exists, what showing them in a "version" submenu: Open with... > MediaConverter > /boot/system/apps/MediaConverter /Data/projects/haiku/trunk/generated.gcc2/.../MediaConverter /Data/projects/haiku/trunk/generated.gcc4/.../MediaConverter Media Player > /boot/system/apps/MediaPlayer /Data/projects/haiku/trunk/generated.gcc2/.../MediaPlayer /Data/projects/haiku/trunk/generated.gcc4/.../MediaPlayer VLC Media Player ----------------------------- DiskProbe FileTypes Tracker ZipOMatic-Z That way, the first menu level will not anymore show these highly truncated paths which make in the end even harder to choose one, while the "version" submenu will show the full path ideally (like Deskbar show the full window title, except in Expander mode). An issue to solve, though, is which version should be the default one when the user just select MediaConverter item, not an explicit version. This will also impact the sort order in the "version" submenu. System apps should come first, I guess, then /boot volume ones, but it's not easy to find the best default version... Bye, Philippe.
