My boot partition is less than 1GB, with only the core system on it.

  * And finally 2 coming from my build tree

That's 7 but no bug.

Same thoughts here. The problem is likely only concerning developers with this exact situation. So we should probably not add a checkbox "Show only applications on boot volume" which would be useless clutter for a regular user.
