This was just a long shot to see if it helps anyone. Adding som debug
code to ACPI's OS functions might let you see what your bios does,
otherwise I think you need #5 to be fixed.
The problem is that it hangs earlier, the first time when loading the EC driver, there is a condition variable that didn't time out or get wake up. I also tried to set EC in poll mode and then use IRQ routing but no change (not sure if I did it right). My next plan is to try to get the HPET timer working maybe this timer works better...
