On further thought, and fyi, this workaround only works:* If the catalogs (ReadOnlyBootPrompt and Installer?)needed to enable listing of the language in ReadOnlyBootPrompt are present.
* After installation for languages that use glyphs not supported by the default font; due to the lack of font overlay in Haiku, choosing such languages at installation time results in garbled text (I have added this info to the Known Issues list of the release notes).
So if the locale switching bugs cannot be fixed, it would be a good idea to add info about this workaround and its limitations to the Known Issues section of the release notes too.
