My main concern would be the switching of the default terminal editor
from vi to nano. Nano needs ncurses and if it were to become the
default built-in editor, having ncurses outside the core system would
be awkward.

Even though I'm a vim guy, I actually find the included vi annoying
since it is so out of date, so I think we may want to move forward on
this change. As I recall on the massive thread the general consensus
was to move to nano.
