Oh, and I'm a little confused as to why a bootstrap is even needed for
this. Can't we use the x86 packages from x86_gcc2h here also?

Hi Jerome, my same question from GitHub that I don't know if you saw
applies: is the assert failure fixed? That was the reason I downgraded
binutils in the first place.
