I am still getting used to Gerrit and I didn't realize this would
actually push the commit so sorry about that. That being said, stop
removing gnuregex from the repository, it is needed on Mac OS X and is
not easily installed. I made a pull request to add gnuregex to
homebrew and it was summarily dismissed.
