And besides that; if the license is really MIT, there is no way to
prevent that, anyway. And from his mail, I wouldn't conclude anything
like this either, as well.

There is also discussion of removing glut entirely.

I thought that GLUT was linked into libGL like GLU was in BeOS... however in https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9059 phoudoin pointed out that this isn't true and GLUT was only added in Haiku because we could (and it was part of Mesa)

In modern OpenGL development, GLUT is almost never used as it was mostly
designed as a learning API that was greatly overused in the 90's.

We could benefit from FreeGLUT or GLFW being ported... but that could
all be handled externally via bep's and optional packages.

My vote at this point is to remove GLUT from libGL as long as BeOS didn't include
GLUT in libGL. (this needs verified)
