It did only do plain text at first, but now you can also use qrwebpost to generate URLs. The address is fixed to a service running on my website right now, but that could easily be moved later on or made configurable. It works pretty well, although the data density of QR codes isn't exactly stellar, so you often have to scan quite a few of them to get a reasonable amount of data out of the system. Beats typing stuff off manually in any case.
