For ticket #8503 I am working on detecting number separators and decimal
separators for DeskCalc and I've found that there is no easy way to detect
that information from the Locale Kit, nor is it particularly
straightforward to extract from ICU, although I have made a clumsy attempt
to do so anyway.
I am guessing that units like that above will be equally difficult to
extract from the Locale Kit/ICU. So, until that kind of functionality is
built-in I would just make a decision (kbps or Kb/s) now and not try to
localize the units.
