Probably not. I would cross-build just the same way as under Linux or FreeBSD. 
I.e. first build the cross-tools and then build the respective project with 
them. This obviously requires that the project's build system supports 
cross-building in the first place. autotools based build systems usually have 
that capability by default, but projects can easily mess it up.
