About that: while it's true that we have too few documents that explain things like keeping the FreeBSD layer current, please always have a look at the mailing list archive - it should be a very good resource for all things that don't have any documentation. You're certainly not the first who ran into that problem.

If you happen to come up with a genuine problem, instead of pursuing a possibly inferior solution, you can always ask on the development list.

About the updated rt driver: as long as it works, it's enough to know it's a mess currently, so that we can revert to its previous version before the next update :-)
