I guess this is my cue.  :)

I do have an email sitting here that is mostly ready to send,
basically requesting if I can work on importing GCC 4.4.2 / Binutils
2.19.1 into the repository.  I could work on a branch, if desired, or
however you guys want to arrange it.

I've been using GCC 4.4.2 just fine since almost the day it was
released, and have a package sitting on my web server even that I
built for an individual looking for a build with Objective-C/C++
support built in.

I'll try to finish up that email later today that outlines all of the
specifics, and then shoot it off to the development list.  We can go
from there.

Basically, all of the brunt work to GCC itself is done, but some
scripts and the like need updated to make it user-friendly for anybody
building Haiku.  Also, I've only been doing testing on i386 targets,
so those would need to be tested as well before replacing 4.3.3.
